Arrowhead
is the western-most village located on Beaver Creek Mountain, which is a secluded resort community in Colorado's Vail Valley. This private, gated community is approximately 120 miles west of Denver and 25 miles east of Eagle on Interstate 70. The luxurious residences of Arrowhead Village are situated at the base of North America's premier Village-to-Village Ski Mountain. At the heart of the village is the 1,400 square foot Arrowhead Alpine Club, the social, athletic and activity hub of Arrowhead Village. The club offers ski services, ski lockers and private locker rooms, a lounge and apres ski bar, complete fitness center and an activities desk. The trails at Arrowhead are linked with those of Beaver Creek Village and Bachelor Gulch Village, which creates a total of 1,625 acres of skiable terrain on Beaver Creek Mountain. Arrowhead itself has approximately 180 acres of skiable terrain, 13 named trails, a vertical drop of 1,700 feet and one high-speed quad chair lift. Activities in the area besides skiing include tennis, swimming, fly-fishing and mountain biking. Residentially, Arrowhead Resort includes slopeside condominiums and townhomes, and situated between the ski slopes and scenic Eagle River, are single family homes and duplexes. There is also a private Jack Nicklaus designed golf course located at Arrowhead Village. Restaurants at Arrowhead include The Bristol and Broken Arrow Café.

Northwestern Colorado is mostly mountainous, with some desert lands. Generally, the climate can be described as highland alpine mountain. Having the highest average elevation in the United States, combined with complex topography, results in dramatic climate changes from place to place. Northwest Colorado has a distinct four-season climate with cold, snowy winters and mild summers. In years when snow cover is heavy at high elevations, or when there is a sudden warming in the spring at high elevations, flooding may be a problem. Thunderstorms are possible in spring and summer. Hail is common in the northwest part of the state. Autumn means crisp, dry days with lots of sunshine and cool nights. Spring and autumn weather can change rapidly.
