Glen-Haven
is located eight miles from Estes Park, which is called the "Gateway to the Rocky Mountain National Park," and is about 90 miles from downtown Denver. The town of Glen Haven is surrounded by the Roosevelt National Forest, which is a designated wilderness area, and offers lots of sunshine and blue skies, fresh air and gorgeous scenery. This small town is not the place to go if you're looking for nightlife and a lot of action - but it more than makes up for it in charm and whimsy. Enjoy visiting Glen Haven's shops like the Pony Tracks Buffalo Store and the Glen Haven General Store. The town is also home to the Glen Haven Inn, a bed and breakfast that offers world class dining and historic lodging. Miles of hiking trails and scenic drives are in the area, including the Trail Ridge Road over the Continental Divide and the Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway (Colorado's oldest scenic byway.) Nearby Estes Park has two golf courses, and offers a wide variety of restaurants and shopping, art galleries, museums and theater. Free outdoor entertainment is available in summer in Estes and special events are held all throughout the year, such as the "Jazz Fest" in May and the "Catch the Glow" celebration during the winter holidays.

North-central Colorado has a semi-arid, continental climate with over 300 days of sunshine per year. It's a common misconception that due to its close proximity to the high elevations, that north-central Colorado has harsh winters. This is not entirely true. While there may be occasional bitter temperatures, storms do not last long. Periods of snow alternate with mild periods. Oftentimes, the snow quickly melts during the day. The hottest months are July and August with an average high temperature of 74 degrees. The coldest month is January with an average temperature of 30 degrees. This region has four distinct seasons, and being along the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains means weather patterns are subject to rapid, volatile, yet brief changes.
