Bachelor-Gulch
is located mid-mountain, part of the unique "Village-to-Village" skiing experience at Colorado's Beaver Creek Mountain in Vail Valley. The other two villages that make up the trio are Arrowhead and Beaver Creek Village. The trails of Bachelor Gulch are linked with those of the other two villages, which creates a total of 1,625 acres of skiable terrain on the mountain. Bachelor Gulch Village is home to the famous Ritz-Carlton, as well as several condominiums and private homes (many of which are available for vacation rental.) Bachelor Gulch is the best choice if you want to be near all the action of Beaver Creek Village (which is the main village of the area,) yet have a little more quiet and seclusion. At Bachelor Gulch Village you will find ski rentals and shops, restaurants with outdoor patios and bars, free "dial-a-ride" shuttles to Beaver Creek Village, and main access to the Bachelor Gulch Express Lift and beginner and intermediate terrain. Other outdoor recreation available in the area besides skiing includes golf and tennis, hiking and biking and fly-fishing. Several spas are available on the mountain, including the private, luxurious Bachelor Gulch Spa at the Ritz-Carlton. This exclusive spa offers an extensive menu of therapeutic and cosmetic services for men and women, with fitness rooms that feature spectacular mountainside views.

Northwestern Colorado is mostly mountainous, with some desert lands. Generally, the area has a highland mountain climate. Having the highest average elevation in the United States, combined with complex topography, results in dramatic climate changes from place to place. A general rule of thumb is the higher the elevation, the lower the temperature with an increase in precipitation. Northwest Colorado has a distinct four-season climate with cold, snowy winters and mild summers. In years when snow cover is heavy at high elevations, or when there is a sudden warming in the spring at high elevations, flooding may be a problem. Thunderstorms are possible in spring and summer. Hail is also common in the northwest part of the state. Autumn means crisp, dry days with lots of sunshine and cool nights.
